Holler At Your Girl

I’m Justine. I spent the first 18 years of my life in the middle of cornfields and cow pastures in my little rural hometown. My Midwestern palette was made to relish regional delicacies such as horseshoes, ginormous breaded pork tenderloin sandwiches, and taco pizza.

I moved to Chicago for college and somehow managed to find my way into a career that has always managed to be food-, and more specifically hot dog-, adjacent. I’ve also mercifully discovered that not every food can and should be served crispy and beige.

Speaking of hot dogs, I love them more than a normal person should. I have hot dog tattoos! My living room is hot dog themed! It’s tasteful, I swear.

Comfort food is my jam. I want to help you feel confident enough to play around with different ingredients without the guidance of a recipe. I didn’t really learn to cook until I moved away to college; I always thought I was a really picky eater who was fascinated by food, but it turns out I was just too nervous to experiment with ingredient swaps. So come, let me help you find your way!

Feeding others brings me joy. Weekend cooking sessions are my leisure activity of choice, followed closely by napping.

Follow me on Instagram for entirely too many posts of my dog, my cooking, and my hot takes on obscure 90s music videos, in that order.
